(Anti-ILT7 antibody/antibody drug)
ILT7 is an antibody drug candidate for autoimmune diseases.
In patients of autoimmune diseases, over-activated immune system often attacks and damages the tissues and organs to cause serious inflammation.
Mode of action
Anti-ILT7 antibody binds to plasmacytoid dendritic cells (pDCs), a subset of dendritic cells (DCs).
pDCs is known as a major source of IFNα; overproduction of IFNα is considered to be one of the major causes of autoimmune diseases.
Anti-ILT7 antibody specifically recognizes and kills pDCs to suppress the IFNα supply, which leads to the improvement of autoimmune disease symptoms.
